Christmas

So quickly after Thanksgiving, we were on our way to Texas for Christmas vacation. Josh, Austin, and I traveled down to Mexia, Texas. It was Austin's first plane ride, and I was more than a little nervous. Our little guy was a champ and played or slept the entire trip down and back. He also charmed every flight attendant and passenger on the planes. I was very proud of our little guy.

Mama B was very excited to see Austin. He had changed a lot since the last time she saw him at two weeks old! There was a lot of playing and traveling to see relatives and friends. Christmas morning was a lot of fun as Austin got to practice his present opening skills again. He also got to meet some cousins and a great aunt and uncle!

Thanksgiving

It's been a long while since I have posted. Being a teacher, the holidays become quite the spectacle. Between Thanksgiving feasts and holiday programs, by the time the new year comes I am over any holidays. It's a good thing we have a month and a half until Valentine's Day!

Austin had a wonderful holiday season. It started with Thanksgiving where his Gram and Aunt Lesley came to Alaska to visit. We had Christmas with Austin where he got to open presents for the first time. It was lots of fun. He got lots of toys, clothes, and books. Josh and I were very grateful for Grams who watched Austin for a Sunday afternoon while we went to the movies. Thanks Grams! :)

Our Little Pumpkin

Here are a few pictures of our little pumpkin in the Halloween candy. Don't worry - he didn't eat any...yet!

Lots of New Experiences

Austin is now five months old. I am constantly amazed at all of the new things he can do everyday!

He had his fourth month appointment two weeks ago (a little late due to my gall bladder removal) and checked out A-OK! He is in the 75th percentile for head size and weight and the 95th percentile for length. Maybe we really do have a future basketball player! The doctor said he is the size of an average seven month old! Yikes!

We are feeding him rice cereal and veggies with a spoon now. As you can tell from the picture, it is a pretty messy process. He is starting to get it though!

Austin also had his first Halloween. We went to the Halloween carnival in Whittier on Friday night. Dad was a jester and Austin was his little monkey. They were an ADORABLE pair!

Already 4 1/2 months old!

Where does the time go? And is it bad that the only time I have to post new pics is when I am laid up in a hospital bed after having my gall bladder removed?

At four months, Austin is doing many amazing things! He is rolling over from back to front. We haven't actually seen him do this, but I have laid him down in his crib for the night only to find him on the stomach a few minutes later when we check on him. He loves putting everything in his mouth including his fingers, my fingers, and Dad's fingers. And, of course, all his toys go in his mouth as seen in the above picture.

His favorite new activity is to blow raspberries. The front of his shirt is completely soaked from doing it, but he finds it hilarious! He also loves when his daddy blows raspberries on his neck. He laughs and laughs!

Please enjoy these new pictures. I promise to get better about posting more frequently! :)
